The Lords Resistance Army rebel leader, Joseph Kony is operating in the North West of Obo, Hout-Mbomou, Central African Republic. The UPDF Chief, Gen. Aronda Nyakairima, said this week that the rebel leader and a small group of his fighters under Caesar Acellam were looting food for survival in the eastern part of CAR.

Other commanders, Dominic Ongwen and Odhiambo are hiding in DR Congo. “The only capacity and business LRA can has, is to steal food for survival,” he said, “Ongwen is hiding in thickest forests and he can’t come out for fear to be attacked,” Gen. Aronda said.

He said constant pursuit of LRA denies them a chance to settle and reorganise. He said in 2001 LRA had built a strong force before UPDF launched Operation Iron Fist that dislodged LRA from its two strong camps of Lubangatek and Bin-Rwot.
